We hope that you and your loved ones are safe following Hurricane Helene. As we prepare to return to campus, we want to remind you of several important services available to support you during this time:
Academic Support
Please do not be worried about assignment deadlines from the period that the college was closed (Thursday, September 26 at 12 p.m. through Friday, October 4). Instructors will be in touch soon with revised timelines. If you anticipate any difficulty returning to classes next week due to the storm, please reach out to your academic advisor or instructors as soon as possible to discuss your options and any accommodations that may be necessary.Other options for notifying the college that you will be unable to return to classes (online and/or on campus) next week include:
- Call the WCC Hotline at 336-838-6157
- Submit a Student Status & Support Form
The Hotline Team will forward your message/information to the applicable faculty and staff. The Hotline will be staffed from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. beginning Monday, October 7. The WCC Hotline and Student Support Form can also be used to notify the college if you need assistance with resources (such as food or water).
Note: The drop deadline for the 1st 8-week block classes has been extended until October 15.
Financial Aid
If you are receiving financial aid and think you may need to withdraw from some classes due to the impact of the hurricane, it is important to contact a financial aid representative.
