Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

As the population of Wilkes, Ashe, and Alleghany County increases, the demand for qualified technicians to maintain heating and cooling systems in residential homes and businesses also rises. If you enjoy solving mechanical problems and possess good communication skills, a career as an HVAC technician could be an ideal fit for you.

Courses

  • HVAC I: This 144-hour course covers the basic heating and cooling principles of HVAC. You will learn safety standards and protocols while developing the skills needed for entry-level employment as a technician with an HVAC company. Upon completion, you will be eligible to take the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Section 608 EPA Certification exam to earn your certification.
  • HVAC II: This 144-hour course that delves into advanced refrigeration theory and HVAC’s heating and cooling principles. Upon completion, students can size and fabricate metal ductwork and possess advanced HVAC service technician skills. Students are also eligible to take additional NATE certifications.

  • Book: $192.00
  • EPA exam: $30
  • OSHA 10: $60
  • NATE Ready to Work: $55 (optional certification)
