Notary Public

A notary public in North Carolina is a public officer who is legally authorized to perform notarial acts to protect the public from fraud and forgery. Notaries can witness and authenticate documents, verify affidavits and depositions, administer oaths and affirmations, and perform other acts established by law.

WCC offers this course in-person in Wilkes, Ashe, and Alleghany as an 8-hour course. Additionally, we offer the Notary Public course as an online, synchronous course in conjunction with NC Secretary of State guidelines. The online class runs for 10 hours and includes a mandatory online orientation to better prepare students for success in navigating the online system.
