Wilkes Community College’s Workforce Development and Community Education (WDCE) is working to train individuals who are looking for new opportunities or work from home career. The program is made possible through a collaboration with Google and Jobs for the Future (JFF), supported with funding from Jobs for the Future. The Google IT Support Professional Certificate, an online training program developed by Google and hosted by Wilkes Community College teaches interested students the skills needed to prepare them for an entry-level career in IT Support.
The program includes five modules with a mix of video lectures, quizzes, labs as well as instructional support from a Wilkes Community College instructor. Students will learn about troubleshooting, customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration, and security. This online certificate program can be completed in less than a year and requires no prior IT experience. The class starts June 15, 2020 and cost is $180.
