The Wilkes Community College Small Business Center has a variety of seminars scheduled for October that support the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses. These seminars are offered at no charge to participants unless otherwise noted; however, attendees must pre-register to participate.

There are endless options for small business owners to market/promote their businesses and it is often hard to determine what is best. This class will review the four basics of business,help attendees understand where their businesses stand and create a quick demographic and psychographic snapshot of their customers (both real and prospects) to then decide the most profitable and most easily adoptable marketing strategies for their specific business and needs.
Business Tax Essentials – October 22, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Webinar
The NC Department of Revenue in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will present an exciting seminar focused on tax responsibilities for small business owners! You will learn the basic North Carolina requirements, gain an understanding of the laws and obligations you must meet to be tax compliant. Topics covered will include withholding from employees, sales and use tax requirements and more.
