Wilkesboro, N.C.– Wilkes Community College’s Walker Center was filled with laughter, music, and patriotic pride on Thursday, September 11, as audiences enjoyed Will Hearn’s Grand Ol’ Americana Show. A one-of-a-kind tribute to the heart and soul of American culture.
Presented “within the studio” of a retro radio broadcast from the fictional 1776 AM L-B-R-T “Liberty” Radio Theatre, the show transported guests back to the golden era of Americana. Featuring internationally touring Americana band Blue Water Highway, the Liberty Radio Orchestra & Gospel Singers, and some of the best entertainers from the Lone Star State, the performance blended music, comedy, and storytelling into an unforgettable evening.
Audiences were treated to a nostalgic journey celebrating classic American traditions from Route 66 road trips and backyard BBQs to summer nights under the stars and fireworks on the Fourth of July.
“The Grand Ol’ Americana Show was the perfect mix of fun, music, and memory-making,” said Tabitha Hudler Director of the Walker Center. “It captured the joy and pride of our shared American heritage and gave our community a night to remember.”
The Grand Ol’ Americana Show added to the Walker Center’s tradition of bringing world-class entertainment to the region, showcasing performances that inspire, entertain, and bring the community together.
