Dental Assisting Information Session

This online information session (steps 1-3 below) must be completed by May 14, 2026, to be considered for the Fall 2026 dental assisting program. A 2026 dental assisting application must be completed prior to completing this information session. If a 2026 dental assisting application is not completed, the student will not receive credit for completing the information session online.

Complete the quiz below. You must score 10 out of 10 to pass the quiz. Once you pass, a form will appear and must be filled out to finalize the process. If you do not pass the quiz, review the material and attempt the quiz again as needed.

    1. 1. The Dental Assisting program is a limited enrollment program that admits approximately 18 applicants once a year in the Fall semester.

    2. 2. The MAR Review deadline for Fall 2026 Dental Assisting is May 28, 2026.

    3. 3. Applicants must successfully complete the following required courses with an overall grade of “D” or better. The following two classes must be completed or in progress before the applicant can schedule a MAR review date:

      • a) One year/credit of a high school biology or college level Biology

      • b) An overall grade of “D” or better on all high school English courses completed or college English

    4. 4. Required courses must be successfully completed by the applicants MAR review date or the applicants MAR review will be cancelled.

    5. 5. High school diploma or recognized equivalent must be completed before entry into the program. If applying as a high school senior, submission of a transcript reflecting all high school coursework completed at the time of application is required.

    6. 6. Applicants may only apply for two limited-admission programs in each academic year.

    7. 7. Applicants are accepted on a first-qualified, first-accepted basis as admission requirements are fully met.

    8. 8. When a student has met the minimum admission requirements, steps 1 through 6, they must contact the Health Sciences Admissions Advisor, Andrea Smith, at adsmith365@wilkescc.edu to schedule a MAR review appointment.

    9. 9. Applicants who have been accepted into the Dental Assisting program will also be required to attend a mandatory Dental Assisting program orientation. The date of the orientation will be provided to applicants who are admitted to the program.

    10. 10. Dental Assisting MAR reviews are held virtually.

    When you submit your quiz above, you should receive an alert with your score. If you scored 100%, you will be redirected to an online certificate of understanding form. Please sign the certificate of understanding to complete the online information session. You must complete the online form to receive credit for the information session.
