Lee Bentley, president of the Wilkes Education Foundation, presented a check for $7,500 to Dr. Jeff Cox, president Wilkes Community College

The Wilkes Educational Foundation awarded $7,500 to Wilkes Community College to assist Wilkes County graduates with priority consideration given to those who have participated in the Career and College Promise program for the 2017-2018.

The WEF awarded WCC $2,000 in the Spring of 2016 for 2016-2017. The recipients were:

  • Julie Johnson, Ferguson, Medical Assisting
  • Austin Lane, North Wilkesboro, Associate in Arts
  • Dylan Roe, Wilkesboro, Applied Engineering – Engineering Technology
  • Zachery Felts, North Wilkesboro, Criminal Justice.
