WCC is committed to helping students connect with resources that support success both in and outside the classroom. Resource Connections helps students find campus and community resources for non-academic support. Struggling with a financial need that may prevent you from completing your program of study or certification? Please contact our office for help with the following:

Location and Hours

Resource Connections is located on the first floor of Lowe’s Hall in Room 1704 (building 2 on the campus map).

Our hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

This guide is offered courtesy of Wilkes Economic Development and the High Country Workforce Development Board.

Wilkes Community College has partnered with Single Stop, a non-profit organization, to create a one-stop shop that can connect students with a variety of community and federal resources they may need to stay focused on their academic goals.

Single Stop uses specially-designed software that, through a series of questions, identifies resources students may be eligible for. This service is free to all students. Benefits and services may include:

  • SNAP (EBT)
  • Medicaid
  • Tax credits
  • Child care
  • Emergency utility service
