Wilkes Community College would like to congratulate five students in the 51st Annual National Career Development Association’s (NCDA) Poetry and Poster contest for winning state-level awards! In the Adult Student Poster Category, Megan Edwards won third place in the state. Megan is a second-year student in the Advertising and Graphic Design program and is pictured with Amber Arnder, her Graphic Design instructor. Megan won a certificate and $10 prize for her winning poster. In the Adult Student Poetry Division, WCC students won three awards. Maria Jimenez (pictured right) won 1st place and received $50 and Blanca Salazar (pictured left) won 3rd place and received $10. Isabel Palacios, who is not pictured, won 2nd place and received $25. Maria, Isabel, and Blanca are ELA students in the College Readiness and Basic Skills Program.
