The Job Placement Office serves as a liaison between WCC students, alumni, and prospective employers.  A variety of services are offered to help job seekers develop effective skills and techniques for finding fulfilling employment.

Students and alumni from our Alleghany, Ashe, and Wilkes campuses are encouraged to contact the Job Placement Office at 336-838-6545 or debbie.furr@wilkescc.edu, for job placement assistance. All services are provided at no charge.

STUDENT AND ALUMNI SERVICES

The Job Placement Office provides assistance with writing effective resumes and cover letters which highlight skills, education, and training. Getting ready for an interview can be intimidating and overwhelming. Our office can also help applicants prepare for interviews and present ones self in a professional manner.

Completing job applications correctly is a must in today's job market. Come by our office for helpful tips. Job fairs are held annually and are great opportunities for meeting numerous employers from our region. Contact the Job Placement Office for future dates. Applicants are encouraged to learn how the labor market plays an important role in job search strategy. Contact our office to find out which jobs are in demand, salary information, plus skills and education requirements.

Need a part-time job while going to school or looking for a full-time position when you graduate? Full and part-time job listings are posted on-line through College Central Network at www.collegecentral.com/wilkescc. Students, alumni, and employers are required to register at this site prior to viewing or posting jobs.

EMPLOYER SERVICES

A variety of services are offered to assist businesses and organizations in finding qualified applicants.

Employers may post job notices for WCC students and alumni at no charge. Jobs are advertised on our Alleghany, Ashe, and Wilkes campuses via College Central Network's on-line jobs board at www.collegecentral.com/wilkescc.  Once registered and approved by the Job Placement Office, employers may post and edit jobs at their convenience.

Job Fairs are held each year and provide great marketing opportunities for employers. Job Fairs help businesses and organizations market their company and enable recruiters to meet hundreds of job applicants. Contact the Job Placement office at 336-838-6545 for more information.

On-campus recruiting is also available to employers. The Job Placement Office will provide space for meeting and interviewing prospective applicants. Employers also have the option of reviewing resumes on-line and contacting applicants to set up interviews.
