Associate Degree Nursing
The Associate Degree Nursing - curriculum provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care to clients and groups of clients throughout the lifespan in a variety of settings.
Courses will include content related to the nurse's role as provider of nursing care, as manager of care, as member of the discipline of nursing, and as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Graduate of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) which is required to practice as a Registered Nurse. Employment opportunities include hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, physician offices, industry, and community agencies.

The Hickory RIBN is a four year nursing option that will dually admit and enroll students at both
Lenoir-Rhyne University and Wilkes Community College. This program will provide a seamless
associate to baccalaureate nursing education for top academic students.
The first three years of study will be at Wilkes Community College campus along with one course per semester at
Lenoir-Rhyne. Upon successful completion of the first three years, students will take their fourth year at
Lenoir-Rhyne. Admission to the program will be competitive and students will be chosen
on the basis of specific academic reqirements.
RIBN is not a fast-track to earn a BSN.
