of Wilkes Community College

Welcome to the Ashe Campus of Wilkes Community College!  We are delighted that you are interested in taking advantage of the many educational opportunities offered through our campus, and we look forward to assisting you in achieving your goals.  We offer an array of programs and services that are designed with one purpose in mind--helping you to be successful.

We offer six full degree programs, including a college transfer curriculum that parallels the coursework required during the first two years of study at four-year colleges and universities.  Our technical degrees(accounting, business administration, applied engineering technology, human services technology, and associate degree nursing) provide you with real-world training that prepares you to enter an increasingly competitive job market.  We work closely with Ashe County High School to offer Career and College Promise opportunities for high school students.  Classes at the Ashe Campus tend to be relatively small, ensuring that your instructors will get to know you and your learning style.  Undoubtedly, you will be challenged in every course, but our faculty and staff are dedicated to your success.

Perhaps you are interested in taking courses to enhance your job skills or provide personal enrichment.  If so, our continuing education course are designed for just those purpose.  You can seek certification in real estate, nursing assistant, phlebotomy, and other areas through the Ashe Campus.  Our business and industry training team works with the local business and industry community to tailor courses that raise the skill levels of employees in every sector of the workforce.  We also offer skills training in such diverse areas as Spanish in the workplace, pottery, computers, and sustainable development.  Additionally, we offer a wide range of online courses that are sure to fit into your busy schedule.  New courses are added often, so check our latest schedule to see which course might be right for you.

If you are without a high school diploma, then our Adult High School and HSE preparatory courses may be right for you.  Small classes and individual instruction ensure students in these courses can rapidly meet their goals.  We also offer online programs that are highly flexible and focused on assisting you in meeting this essential workforce credential.

For the convenience of Ashe students, the Ashe Campus Bookstore is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The bookstore is closed daily from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Ashe Campus is dedicated to providing a quality, affordable education to the members of our community and beyond.  We hope you will join us in this amazing adventure of lifelong learning.
