Build a Career Path to the Future!

Do you want to enter a great career after high school and college? This guide was created with you in mind.

Alleghany County Schools, Ashe County Schools, Wilkes County Schools, and Wilkes Community College have partnered to form the Northwest College Tech Prep Consortium. The goal of this partnership is to ensure that all high school graduates have a seamless transition from high school to a North Carolina community college or four-year institution.

What is your career pathway?

During your freshman year in high school, you have the opportunity to pick the career pathway of your interest. Throughout high school you can choose the Career and Technical Education (CTE) electives that you want to complete your high school plan. Through the Northwest Tech Prep Consortium, many of the CTE electives that you take will transfer and count towards your degree at Wilkes Community College. See your high school guidance counselor for information on available programs .

It all begins now.

It is important that you begin now to chart your path for success. Taking CTE courses in high school helps you find the rewarding career that you have been dreaming about!  Many CTE high school courses will give you credit for college courses; click on articulation agreement below.
