All classes and sections will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. The sooner we receive your registration, the more likely you will receive your first choice. Should your first choice class be full or cancelled, you will be placed in your next available class of choice. NO REGISTRATION WILL BE TAKEN BY PHONE OR FAX. All registration fees must be accompanied with registration forms. Confirmation of first choice classes will not be sent. Classes not having sufficient registration may be cancelled. Notices will be sent in cases of class cancellation with confirmation of alternative choices. Fees will not be returned.

Registration forms and fees should be received by October 22nd. Registrations on this date will determine which classes will run and which will be cancelled due to lack of enrollment. Registrations will, however, be accepted up to the fire college weekend.

All students must report to the registration table and receive name badges. Students without name badges will not be admitted to class.

Students must attend 80% of their class to receive credit. Students taking National Fire Academy courses must attend 100% to receive National Fire Academy Certification.

MINUMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS

Junior Firefighters under the age of 18, but at least 16 years of age, must have a written letter of authorization from the fire chief, and also a “Dual Enrollment Form,” from his/her school superintendent or designee to participate in this training. (Except students from Ashe, Alleghany and Wilkes Counties). Anyone under the age of 16 will not be allowed to participate. This permission must accompany the registration form.

REGISTRATION FEES

A registration fee of $15 is being charged to cover expenses for the preparation and presentation of the workshop. This fee is non-refundable.

Participants from out of the state of North Carolina or industry personnel not associated with a fire department or rescue squad must pay $70 of which $55 is for Wilkes Community College registration (N.C. Legislative Law).
